FIGURE, PORTRAIT & WILDLIFE SCULPTURE
Limited Edition Bronzes and Commissions
Welcome to my site. I am a professional sculptor and artist and produce limited edition figurative bronzes of human figures, animals, and portraits. You can view my work at selected galleries in the UK. Please contact me if you would like more details.
About my work The human figure including portraiture are the main 'subject' focus of my work, though I do also love wildlife and especially birds, and these feature too in much of my work.
Awareness and consideration of the 'abstract' within a piece is as important to me as accuracy in depicting a likeness of the subject. My working style is classic yet contemporary using simplified resolved forms usually having a smooth finish with limited detail. I sculpt using clay, wax or plaster. Then cast in bronze. |
ABOUT ME
I live in Hampshire and my studio is based at Project Workshops near Andover.
Sculpting since 2007 I have a lifetime of experience of 'art' related work behind me, working as a successful professional Illustrator, designer, animator and art tutor.
Sculpture and it's appreciation has always been a passion for me, and in its broadest depictions, from the Elgin Marbles to Henry Moore, Michelangelo to Barbra Hepworth, but also Modern Sculpture particularly the 'earlier moderns'.
I love painting and drawing but have always wanted to be a sculptor at some point in my life. Recently and having changed jobs several times in the space of only a few years I decided to take the big decision (along with my family) to become a full time sculptor .
These next few years will be challenging yet exciting for me as I develop as a sculptor and I look to produce many new works.
Please check out my gallery pages and if you have time leave me some feedback or contact details.
